Madrid-Barajas Airport Guide

Madrid airport is a large modern airport that has good facilities and is well connected to the capital. The airport experiences large passenger numbers as it is not only the main entrance to Madrid but acts as a major transportation hub for connecting international and domestic flights. The airport provides good efficient services but this cannot always be said about the airlines that fly from Madrid airport.

The airport is located 8 miles to the east of Madrid and is connected by the extensive metro system. Generally Madrid airport is hassle free to fly into and, depending on the airline, not to difficult to depart from.

The easiest method to travel from the airport to the centre of Madrid is by the Metro. The services to the airport have an additional supplement (€3.00) on top of the standard ticket price €1.50-2.00 (for Zone 1 travel). The first metro of the day is at 6:00am and the last service is at 1:30am.
